a tumblr about pretty things, funny pictures and, of course, ducks.
When not swimming In the lobby fountain, the Peabody ducks live in a special $200k duck palace on the roof of the hotel, complete with two duck pools, lettuce, feed, and their own mini Peabody hotel. | The Peabody hotel is famous for its duck march—ducks waddle down from the roof to the lobby fountain where they spend their day, and then march back to the roof at night. The nearly 80 year old tradition started when one of the first hotel managers let his (then legal) wild duck decoys loose in the hotel lobby after a little too much Jack Daniels on a hunting trip. The ducks settled in the fountain, the guests loved it, and it’s been a tradition ever since. Wild ducks are rotates through monthly before returning to a duck farm and, eventually, the wild. The current ducks will retire to the Jack Daniels distillery as honorary grain tasters. #onassignment #ducks #peabody #memphis #tennesee #jackdaniels #peabodyducks #whiskey #tradition #duckmaster

In case you’re having a bad day…here are some puppies sleeping with stuffed animals.
